DEVELOPING FUTURE AFRICAN LEADERS
The African Dream Initiative transforms the lives of forgotten children in East Africa.
We find bright children living on the edges of society – including refugees, AIDS orphans, former child soldiers, abducted girls, and child laborers – and provide them with long-term, quality education, leadership and critical thinking skills, and other resources they need to become leaders in their communities and beyond.
The Need
Education provides better opportunities and a brighter future, and can break the cycle of poverty for disadvantaged children and communities.
Lack of education is widespread in East Africa, especially among the disadvantaged populations that ADI seeks to support. The vast majority of school-age Ugandan children will enroll in primary school; however, 68% will drop out before reaching high school and only 6.4% will reach University.
ADI understands that a solution to solving East Africa’s problems exists in the hearts and minds of the current generation of promising, but neglected and excluded children.
Our Solution
Scholarship
We offer promising but forgotten children a transformational opportunity to attend the most prestigious schools in Uganda.
Leadership
We teach and reinforce critical thinking and leadership, and empower students to give back to their communities.
Support
We help heal wounds of the past and provide ongoing mentorship and encouragement.

By placing our students in Uganda’s most elite schools, providing them with a robust structure, and fostering their growth through critical-thinking and leadership workshops, we have helped our students achieve truly remarkable levels of success.
